The Illini football staff has been putting in major work in the sunshine state, in large part to secondary Coach Keynodo Hudson and his staff. Aaron Gonzales one of the assistant DB coaches was a lead in Theodore’s recruitment and Lockley loved the vibe he got from the staff. Illinois is getting a trailblazer and something you can teach a kid, 4.39-40 yard dash time.
Theodore can play both sides of the ball and will bring much needed versatility.
How did Illinois land Lockley?
Theodore told me “The biggest difference between Illinois and other schools was they recruited me as an ATH. I have a better chance to play early and that means a lot. I can play both sides of the ball.”
Who on the staff was he closest with?
Theodore said “ Definitely Coach Hudson, he was good he of the reasons I chose Illinois as well”
Thoughts on playing for someone as respected as Lovie Smith?
He told me “ I just spoke to him Sunday on the phone, He’s a winner, so it means a lot.”
Thoughts on so much Florida talent coming to Champaign?
He told me “We are gonna try and make it Florida part two”
Theodore Lockley chose Illinois because of the Love he felt and a chance to play and show his overall skill set. Illinois needs speed and it’s hitting the Sunshine state for that. I expect more to come this summmer. One source told me “We are gonna make it Champaign, Florida real soon”.
I think fans could get used to that
